Ord is a minimalist word tile game built around two proprietary mechanics that change what a word game can be.
Bind — place a tile on top of an existing tile on the board, changing the letter at that position. Every word affected by the change scores. Inspired by bindrunes, the Norse practice of overlaying two runic symbols into a single compound mark.
Weave — place tiles branching in more than one direction in a single turn, forming multiple words simultaneously. Every complete word scores. Inspired by the Norns — the fate-weavers who spin the threads of destiny in all directions at once.
Both moves are earnable through gameplay and purchasable via an in-game economy. The aesthetic is Nordic minimalism: matte stone tiles, carved wood, clean serif type, and deliberate motion. Tiles settle — they don’t bounce.
